Book Reviews of We Were Gonna Have a Baby, But We Had an Angel Instead

Book Review: So sweet!
Summary: 5 Stars

I don't have any living children, so I didn't need this book to help explain the loss of our son at 34 weeks, but I love it for myself. It explains in such simple terms and the pictures are so touching. I love that the baby is an angel that watches over the family. Lovely book to pull out and read.

Book Review: Helpful
Summary: 5 Stars

We ordered this book to help our almost three year old understand the death of her baby sister. Our baby died after spending two weeks in the NICU. Our older daughter only saw pictures of her. This book was a great help. Short sentence structure and simple facts make it easy for small children.

Book Review: great book!

I love this book I don't ohter childre but if you do have other children and you have lost a child I reccommned this book for your kids to read. I love it

Book Review: Great book for kids
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is great for a family who has lost a baby, no matter the gestation. My three year old loves this book and still asks why we had an angel instead of a baby. It doesn't answer all the questions, but nothing does. This book certainly helps children.

Book Review: Touching for Parents and their children
Summary: 5 Stars

I had initially purchased this book to try and help my six year old after his baby sister was stillborn. He was having difficulty with the tragedy as we all were. I found the illustrations and the story itself absolutely perfect with what we were experiencing. I had not expected it to touch me as much as it did. It's only been a little over a month since we lost our baby but I find that picking the book up and reading it over and again helps me as much as it helps him. The way the illustrator had the baby remain with the family, only as an angel, was comforting to both of us. We talk about her being an angel watching over us so the pictures helped my son see that as well. It's heartbreaking that anyone would need this but comforting that it's there.
