Book Reviews of Weight Loss Surgery For DummiesBook Review: a "must have" book Summary: 5 Stars
This book has been so helpful in every way. I read it almost cover-to-cover before surgery and now that I am post op, this is the main source I go to review or check for new recipes or information. It tells you EXACTLY what to expect and I have recommended it to anyone I know who is even considering the surgery.
Book Review: My Momma didn't raise no dummies, but. . . . Summary: 5 Stars
This book is a fab overall view of what to expect before and after surgery. The great thing was I got to be a patient of Dr. Kurian herself!!! She did excellent work trying to make a book that explains the different type of surgery available and the pros and cons for all of them.
Hope this helps!
Book Review: Comprehensive information, great reference pre & post op Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this book shortly before my surgery. I was impressed with how thorough it was. It re-verified the information that I had received from my surgeon and local support group but also gave ideas for many recipes and discussed the non-physical changes more in depth than even my surgeon's handbook did.
Book Review: Very good book Summary: 5 Stars
This book I would recommend for people either thinking about or really getting WLS. However it is more directed to people having gastric bypass over people having the gastric banding procedure. I think there we better books out there specificly for the banding procedure that explains the entire process.
Book Review: A Great Resource Summary: 5 Stars
I read this book from cover to cover, and found it to be excellent. As the director of the National Association for Weight Loss Surgery (www.nawls.com) I already had read a lot about weight loss surgery -- and I still learned quite a bit from this book! I highly recommend it to pre-ops and post-ops alike.
