First let me say that I really enjoyed the writing and would read something by this author again. I was hoping for more about the disappearance of Kate, but that really becomes a backdrop for the characters. It seemed like the mystery got wrapped up very quickly in the last few pages, as an afterthought. But I blew through this book -- loved the humor!Book Review: Disappointing

I was so disappointed with this book. I had high hopes, but found the story very slow and boring. I had a very hard time finishing it, and felt it was a waste of a very long week. Interesting story, but it was far too contrived for my taste. Her "voice" as the child was a bit annoying to get through. Some nice writing. Didn't feel too forced. Some good characterization too. But in my opinion it didn't make up for its flaws.Book Review: book discussion
