Book Reviews of What's Wrong, Little Pookie?

Book Review: I Still Enjoy This Book
Summary: 5 Stars

I've read this book to my 17-month-old countless times, and I still enjoy reading it. (So does my son.) The artwork is simple, and I actually (as a first time mom) have a new way to deal with meltdowns when they happen, because of this book. If asking reasonable questions doesn't work, I'll try silly questions, which seem like they'll distract my little Pookie enough to calm down and think about something else. At any rate, it's nice to read a book that, though simple, has not grown tiresome in the month I've had it from the library. :)

Book Review: My favorite Boynton book...not so much my daughters
Summary: 5 Stars

I happen to love this book. Most other parents will probably agree with me that they have gone through the exact same thing Pookie's mom went through...trying to find out why Pookie is sad by asking countless questions. The final response is perfect and makes me smile every time I read it. Not sure my daughter completely understands the concept behind the book, but she points out everythig in the pictures. If you want a book you'll enjoy reading then this is a good one. Hope your child will grow to like it.

Book Review: one of the first books my toddler "reads"
Summary: 5 Stars

This book doesn't have the same rhythm and rhyme as most of Boynton's other books, it's bit simpler. But it's one of the first books my 22 month old would sit and "read" by herself. Yes, she shortened all the sentences to one word each and skipped pages, but it was pretty cute to see her up on our big recliner proudly reading "sick? No. Drink? No."

A little different from Boynton's normal style, but still a very sweet little board book.

Book Review: A Must For Piggy Fans
Summary: 5 Stars

My nearly four year old LOVES farm animals, and we have a small collection of Boynton books already, but I still thought he may be too old for this one. Boy, was I wrong! He totally related to the adorable piggy- not sure what is wrong and definitely NOT wanting to talk about it.
This quickly went to the top of his favorites list and has remained there for many months now. Guaranteed giggles every time!

Book Review: above average Boynton book
Summary: 4 Stars

For our family, I would say this is an "above-average" Boynton book.

While my daughter does enjoy reading (or having it read) it, it is not one of her favorites. It is tolerable to read over and over though - which is key for us.

Little Pookie is upset, but will not tell his mother why. As she guesses at the reasons, Pookie is distracted (and entertained) and forgets why he is upset.
