Book Reviews of Whole Grains Every Day, Every WayBook Review: meat based recipees Summary: 5 Stars
I love her cookbooks and own most of them. I was just surprised at the amount of meat based recipees in the cookbook. It is great for ideas to cook whole grains and incorporating into a standard diet. If you were looking for vegetarian or vegan it is not for you. Her books always make cooking sound easy and fun and I enjoy them. I have tried many of her ideas and recipees and have liked the finished product. I especially like her practical suggestions for beginners.
Book Review: 2 Thumbs Up Summary: 5 Stars
Before purchasing Lorna's book, I thought I cooked with several different whole grains. Sass has exposed me to more grains than ever!
3 months ago, my former college roommate and I started a blog that's dedicated to cook every recipe in Lorna's book. ([...]) So far, we have cooked 16 recipes and there's no stopping!
My favorite must tries are Saffron-basmati Rice with Chicken in Garam Masala Sauce & Chocolate Chip-Hazelnut Cookies.
Book Review: Disappointed Summary: 2 Stars
I like the variety of recipes and the fact that the author really researched the best way to use these whole grains, but I do not like the fact that I cannot buy the ingredients in my small town of 3100 and when you wish to cook a recipe and ingredients not available within 2 hours and I don't want to wait on mailorder and pay shipping. This is just not what I expected, very disappointed in my plan to eat healthy and the recommendation for buying came from [...]
Book Review: Whole Grains Every Day, Every Way Summary: 5 Stars
This is the third cookbook that I have purchased by Lorna Sass. It is a great book for introducing reluctant family members to eating whole grains because some of the recipes include meat. Though the recipes are simple, this cookbook has gourmet appeal. Somehow, Lorna Sass pulls off making a simple, healthy meal appear special. Whole grain cooking is a life saver for busy cooks because one dish can often make a meal - healthy fast food. I love this cookbook!
Book Review: Eating good tastes soooo good!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I grew up eating a lot of whole grains but got out of it when I went to college. I wanted to get back in to it and wanted some ideas for recipes. It seems so hard to find truly healthy, good tasting recipes, but this book has it. I love everything I have made in it so far (about 10 recipes). I would recommend it to anyone! It's fun to turn these weird (at least they were to me) grains into something that tastes amazing and you feel good eating!
