Aislinn has a secret, she can see fairies. They walk amoung the humans, invisible or hiding with a glamour, a discuise that make a fairies apperance look human. She has obeyed the same rules all of her life, don't attract fairies, don't look at invisible fairies, and don't talk to invisible fairies. Some are beutiful, and some are the very essence of fear.
In the last week, two of them have been following her, one of them, Keenan tries to talk with her wearing a glamour. He tries to get her to go out with him. He is beautiful, more handsome then any of the other fairies.
The other fairie stays in the corner and watches as Keenan tries to woo her. She has blue lips, and is white all over, and at her side is a wolf, and while she is running out the door she whispers 'Run lwhile you can,' in Aislinn's ear.
Aislinn, finds herslef turning more and more to her friend Seth, a sexy older boy. Aislinn has know Seth for three years now, and everyday, as she gets more and more attatched to him. She knows that Seth doesn't date, so she keeps him far away, but it gets harder and harder to do so everyday.
Keenan is the Summer King, his whole summer kingdom faces extinction as long with the whole world if he cannot find the missing summer queen. His own mother, the ice queen, holds his powers at bay, letting the cold spread everywhere. He goes through girl after girl, trying to find the right one.
He has marked Aislinn, as his own, she will turn into a fairie now. She has a choice, turn into a summer fairie, or grasp the ice queens staff, facing the chance that she may become cold, and be the winter girl, where she must ward away any of the girls that may become the summer queen. But, if she touches the ice queens staff, and she is the right one, she may become the summer queen.
Donia, loves Keenan, even though she doesn't want to, and Keenan loves her. She was the first girl of them all, to grasp the ice queens staff, and now she is the winter girl, her white skin and blue lips mark her as so, cursed to always be cold. She has to try to talk Aislinn out of trying to become the summer queen, like she once did. She wishes that she had never touched the staff, and had turned into a summer fairie like the rest of the girls did, but it is too late to regrett.
I loved this story, Melissa Marr truely made a peice of art when she decided to write this book. It is the first in the series, the third one will be coming out very soon, I can't wait.
Summary of Wicked Lovely
