Being an avid outdoorsman and mountaineer, I have read many books on wilderness survival. This book is superior to any others on the market. The book deals with survival in a logical manner covering all aspects, including mental conditioning. The illustrations provide an excellent visual representation of the words. "Wilderness Survival" is a no nonsense in depth survival book. I have read many books on the subject and find this to be one of the best. This book covers all of what you kneed to know to survive in the wilderness. From animal snares and traps to skinning the animal, from making a shelter in any condition to signaling and navigation, this book explains it all.Book Review: Useful and informative

I've read many wilderness outdoors and survival books for different country (mountain, forest, desert), and Wilderness Survival is one of my all-time favorites, along with Mountaineering The Freedom of the Hills by Don Graydon and The Ultimate Desert Handbook by Mark Johnson (both of which I also highly recommend).Book Review: Very informative!

There's things in this book that everybody could learn from! I was amazed at all the information in this book and would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn to survive in the woods by themselves. It is true, this is an excellent book as the others have said. Bravo to the author! However, and the following is not meant as any deterent to this book, the reader should also read the U.S. Army Survival Manual which will fill in a few blanks. Again, though, this is an excellent book.
