Book Reviews of World Atlas of WineBook Review: almost an encyclopedia Summary: 5 Stars
This is my third copy of World Atlas. Each one has been such a substantial improvement over the previous one that its purchase was inevitable. Great maps, witty, relevant text and the usual breath-taking photographs of wine country. (did you ever notice that no body grows wine in ugly places?)
Book Review: Poor Sonoma County Coverage Summary: 1 Stars
While the book is very big, I felt Sonoma County California's wineries deserved more than about one page of coverage. This book seems to have a strong European bias.
If you want much better coverage of California wines, try Matt Kramer's "New California Wine" also available at Amazon.
Book Review: Spot-On Summary: 5 Stars
the world atlas of wine is a must have for any coffee table, collection, or wine aficionado. Amazon delivered with exactly what i wanted, in great condition, and within the 2 day delivery date. (not to mention it's free two day with PRIME)
by far one of the best purchases of many with Amazon
Book Review: The World Atlas of Wine Summary: 5 Stars
The most comprehensive review available of wine production world-wide. In words and pictures, along with some outstanding maps, Hugh Johnson covers the history of wine making, the current techniques of growing and bottling and even gives a glimpse of the future of this intriguing culture.
Book Review: Just what I was looking for! Summary: 5 Stars
This book is amazing... It is a perfect coffee table, encyclopedia, textbook, or gift for anyone that has ever picked up a glass of wine and wanted to know a little more. It has beautiful pictures and is so informative. It is a gift I wished I had actually bought for myself.
