Book Reviews of World Without EndBook Review: World Without End Summary: 2 Stars
I used to read quite a lot of Ken Follett's books until I read A Place Called Freedom. I found it to have been very badly written but I slogged on, in the mistaken belief that his writing would get better and generously decided that he'd been having an off day. I read Pillars of the Earth when it first came out and thoroughly enjoyed it and I rushed to buy World Without End - I finished it. Alas, Ken Follett is having more than an off day. I admire the research he must have done to write this book, but in his research he forsook his writing style. I would like to think I had the patience to re-read Pillars of the Earth and see if it was as enjoyable and as well written as I had initially thought. I would like to think I have the patience, but I know I haven't. I am unable to recommend the book at all as as it is so very badly written.
Book Review: Interesting!! Summary: 3 Stars
A follow up to the Pillars of the Earth. I liked Pillars better, but this book is good too.
It is not a must to read Pillars prior to this sequel but it would help one to understand this storyline.
Book Review: Great sequel! Summary: 5 Stars
My wife and I listened the Pillars of the Earth several years ago, and when we saw there was a sequel, we jumped on it. You won't be disappointed - very good characters and excellent character development.
Book Review: World Without End Summary: 5 Stars
Well researched and Follett keeps you guessing as to the next turn of events. It has been hard to limit ourselves to one CD a night
