Book Reviews of Written in Red InkBook Review: Great Read! Summary: 5 Stars
I had never read anything by Ms. Shapodee but my first experience with her was wonderful. Written in Red Ink is a great quick read that I finished in 2 days. It contains friendships, betrayal, love, lies, and just an over all view of life. Emily is a 39 year wife & mother of three girls, but for what she really wants is a boy and she doesn't know why. She doen't want her girl to hate her the way she hates her mother so she lets them get away with just about everything. When she finally put her foot down it was like Whoa! She is also dealing with her own issues in the dreams that she has had since she was 8. She also is keeping a secret from Richard because she thinks it will ruin her marriage. Richard is the all around husband and father. He's loves his girls but he just wish that Emily would give them more structure. He also is a man that hates lies. Lenora is Emily's mother. She harbors a great hated for Emily for something that happened along time ago. She writes all of her thoughts in journals that Emily and Maple Honey try to find in order to get some answers. Maple Honey is an all around great woman. She took care of Emily when she was a child. She trys to get Emily to forgive her mother, but Emily says that she will hate her mother for life. Lisa is an average 15 years old girl that is testing her parents to see just how much she can get away with. She does get in over her head quite a few times. Nichole and Michelle are the younger children, who basically annoy Lisa, although they want to be like her because she gets away with just avout everything Annette is Emily's best friend is a true woman of 2000. Although she is a bit stupid when it comes to some men, she is also head strong and knows what she wants. Milo is a snake in the grass. D-O-G Ralph is Richard brother. Pauline and Ezell are Richards parents. They love Emily like a real daughter and Emily wishs she had them as parents when she was little. You have to read it to find out all the twist and turns. I promise that it is worth your time.
