Book Reviews of Yoga AnatomyBook Review: Interesting Reading on a Difficult Subject Summary: 5 Stars
Yoga Anatomy is the best book I have purchased on the subject. I have been practicing Yoga for about 33 years and teaching some classes during the 33 years. The illustrations are clear, concise and to the point for the asanas demonstrated. The book is well written and interesting. I recommend it to all Yoga Teachers and serious Yogis. I am registered to teach certification, if I pursue this, Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff will be one of the text books used in my class. Thank you for such a wonderful book on Yoga Anatomy.
Book Review: Worth the money... Summary: 4 Stars
I've thoroughly enjoyed Yoga Anatomy. I was looking for something very basic and this publication has helped me enormously in learning about how my body functions during my daily yoga practice. I found it to be clear and concise. I certainly would recommend it to anyone who wants a more detailed illustration of how the body uses its muscles during the basic asanas. My only criticism is that the illustrator, whose work was excellent, included the suggestion of clothing on the bodies. I found it unnessary and distracting.
Book Review: Yoga Anatomy Summary: 5 Stars
This book is a great tool for yoga teachers and anyone wanting to further their knowledge of yoga and anatomy. The drawings are incredible. The notes accompanying the drawings are exactly what I need to deepen my understanding of yoga anatomy. The layout for each asana is clear and easy to understand with everything I would want to know about that posture. The text about the Breath in general is thorough. The text about the breath in each posture is not something I have found in other texts. What an incredible resource!!
Book Review: Excellent Anatomy Publication for Teacher Trainee's Summary: 4 Stars
As someone pursuing the 200 hour certification in Yoga I picked up this book after hearing rave upon rave about it. This is an excellent source for the yoga teacher or trainee, it covers many poses ranging from basic to advanced and provides at least 1-2 pages covering everything from contraindications, muscles used and more! Initially, the text is overwhelming but the longer you spend with this text, the more it all makes sense!
I highly recommend this text, it's one you'll return to over and over again.
Book Review: Yoga Anatomy Book Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great book. I was assigned another book when I studied yoga. it was garbage ( for a yoga teacher). But this one is fantastic. You can learn more about yoga anatomy and movement limitations in this one. Its easy to read, the illustrations are the best I've ever seen for explaining how the joints & muscles work in each pose. Some of the pose ( asana) names are non-standard, but who cares? There is an entire series of these books - Anatomy for stretching, etc. I've bought them all now. Thats how good these are.
