Book Review: Fun Book..... But Free Alternative Available

I don't own a dog, or this book. But I have a neighbor that does. She very much enjoys baking different kinds of treats and biscuit concoctions for her pampered pooch. Some folks may consider such efforts a little strange on behalf of a dog. Especially considering that many such biscuits and snacks already come ready made in the pet section of your market. However just like how many parents hold their kids snacks and in betweens to a better standard whenever they can, so it is with our beloved pets for some of us. I liked this book very much when she let me borrow it for browsing. A lot of the recipes it holds are very easy and fun to make, as well as in many cases far cheaper in the long run if made in big batches. And like just about anything else home made, they are in most cases much better nutritionally than any mass produced doggie treats...
The only problem I have with this book is that there is a web site available that not only gives you the same variety, but an even greater number of recipes than this book offers for absolutely free. I happen to find it some time ago when I was searching the web for home made bird snack recipes. I do a lot of bird feeding and I was interested in making some of my own snacks for the birds over the course of the winter. The site is located at [...]. Unfortunately if I put the exact web address in this review, Amazon sees it fit to delete for whatever reasons. So if you are interested in this site, I can spell out the directions for you through clandestine means. Go to [...], click on "features" on the list on the left side of the screen, and then click on "dog treat recipes" listed on the web page. This will bring you to a another page that at my last visit held a full 75 dog recipes of all kinds. Everything from "muttloaf" to "snickerpoodles" and "party pupcakes". All the recipes are interesting, fun to make, and most of all, if my neighbors pooch is any culinary judge at all, lapped up in seconds flat with a smile and a wag of its tail in delight. I have shared this site with her and many other dog lovers who all appreciate it very much. Believe me when I tell you its not as easy as one thinks to locate such a large variety of dog treat recipes on the web. This was the biggest and best I found in my travels.
In conclusion, some folks like the idea of an old fashioned cookbook that they can hold in their hands and spread out in the kitchen to follow. If you're one of those people, I think both the price and the quality of this You Bake book is worth it indeed. On the other hand if you're someone that owns and dog and loves the idea of making your own fun and nutritional treats for them, and, is interested in doing it as cheaply as possible, I suggest you follow the directions to Bullwrinkle and indulge yourself. The doggie in your life will thank you for it, as well as your pocketbook as well...
