Book Review: I LOVE THIS BOOK! Summary: 5 Stars
What a find! Tons of great recipes (even my husband enjoyed the Blue Cheese Walnut Training Treats) that are clear and easy to follow. The book is written with wit and intelligence and is filled with all sorts of related and valuable information. I love that Ms. Adams recognizes her readers would prefer to be enjoying time with their animals rather than fussing around with complicated recipes -- she offers up some terrific time-saving tips. And the inclusion of recipes targeted for animals with special dietary needs makes this the perfect gift book for anyone who loves their animals. To top it off, the book is beautifully designed and illustrated. This is a really terrific book and I'm so glad I found it!
Book Review: Good book, good book Summary: 5 Stars
Really nice book on making dog treats from scratch. The graphics are a bit odd being people with various dog heads doing various chores. But if you're looking for a book with a nice variety of treat recipes this is a good one. About half of the recipes sound good enough to eat (the ones sans liver) for myself, like Pumpkin Drop Cookies and Apple Bran Muffins. And just about everything can easily be obtained at your local grocery with maybe a few ingredients needing to be found at the health food market. But you can make 85% of the recipes in the book just from 1 trip to the local grocery store if the ingredient isn't already sitting on your pantry shelf.
Book Review: Fun for you and your pooch! Summary: 5 Stars
What a great book! Not only is it full of easy to make recipes for dog treats, but it also includes additional, helpful information to improve your dog's health and well-being.
I've made a number of the treats and they are a big hit with my dog (and cats too -- don't tell!). I especially like the sections on grain-free treats, and recipes for dogs with special needs. The recipes are simple, and even stand up to an ingredient substitution or two if necessary. I can't imagine ever bringing home store-bought treats again!
Book Review: Handy, easy-to-use cookbook for doggy treats! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought a copy of this book several months ago and have already made many of the recipes not only for my Cairn Terrier, but as gifts for other dogs and it is a hit! The recipes are easy to make, don't take a lot of ingredients and you can subsitute ingredients and experiment to fit your dogs tastes and needs. I have also given two copies as gifts. Try making your dog some treats - it's fun!
