I love this book. First time I used it to make the turkey meatloaf and cut it into training treats for two hungarian vizsla's. One loved them and the other didn't even try one yet their older lab loved them as well.
My next foray was making the pumpkin pie biscuits for my aussie collie who has a bit of a sensitive stomache (but more so with his dry food) and he absolutely adores them.
What separates this from the chaff is that she has low-fat treats for pudgy pooches, grain-free treats, treats for special needs dogs, misc. treats with a purpose, and it shows that she really cares for her dogs.
The extra information and choices to make your own dogs treats is a treat in itself and I'm glad I purchased this book. My dog will have a fresh batch of homemade biscuits waiting for him when he gets back from the hospital tomorrow. Thanks Janine!

I bought this book based on all the good reviews and was a little disappointed....almost every recipe calls for a food processor and not having one at the moment pretty much excluded alot of the recipes. Of the ones I did make my two pugs weren't crazy about them. It is O.K. but there are many more that are better out there...Book Review: Fantastic!

I looked at several other cookbooks before I choose this one. The book gives you low fat and grain/chicken free recipes. Plus, a lot of really useful general dog information. Try the liver leather recipe. All the dogs go crazy for it, and it is perfect if you want to use treats during training.
