Book Reviews of Your Body Knows BestBook Review: I'M A BELIEVER.... Summary: 5 Stars
My wife has bought every single diet book on the market and this is the one that worked for her. She was so excited after the first day when she read it, that I started reading it too. She started taking the recommended supplements and followed the menu plans for her fast oxidizer type. She lost 8 pounds the first week and is now down 25 pounds..with another ten to go. Great Book. Great Results. Every Body should read Your Body Knows Best.
Book Review: IT WAS LIKE A GOOD MOVIE WITH A QUICK AND UNPOLISHED ENDING Summary: 3 Stars
If you plan to read this book, start on page 120 with the metabolic profile test. If you fit profile 1 or 2 you need to use caution because some of the menu items for these groups are on the AVOID-FOR-ALL-TYPES list earlier in the book. If you fall into Profile 3, forget it since the detailed food plans and final compilations are applicable only to 1 and 2. I felt like I had watched a decent movie with a quick, unpolished ending.
Book Review: Metabolic Profiling Was the Answer for Me Summary: 5 Stars
As a Type A blood, I was following the D'Adamo program but still felt lousey and had no energy. I then took the Quiz in Your Body Knows Best and found that I was a fast oxidizer or fast burner. Within two days of switiching to more protein and healthy fats, I lost two inches and my bloating went down...for the first time in years. I'm a believer. I hope Ann Louise writes a sequel called Your Body Knows Best Cookbook.
Book Review: Good information, but... Summary: 3 Stars
The author has excellent information and advice on dieting but she complicates the subject by putting heritage and metabolic rate into the mix of factors to consider. ABO blood type is very important in my view as is excersise and avoiding processed foods, Both books agree on many important issues however. I hope she is wrong about having to give up Sushi, I'd rather die.
Book Review: EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS BOOK!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Ann Louise Gittleman, et al does a wonderful job of explaining how different categories of foods effect you and why, as well as helping people understand their body and what each body needs for optimum performance. I have been incorporating the guidelines into my diet and the results have been great...I feel better, I'm loosing weight, and I can tell my body is happier!!
