Book Reviews of Your Body Knows BestBook Review: Wow! A Real Eye Opener Summary: 5 Stars
I guess common sense in nutrition is not so common. But this author puts science into a framework that any body can understand. I lost 12 pounds over the past 15 days by doing the Slow Burner or Slow Oxidizer Plan. The Metabolic Section makes so much more sense than the blood type material. I plan to read all of Gittleman's books now.
Book Review: Not bad, but "Eart Right 4 Your Type" is better. Summary: 2 Stars
The book presents some good information, such as D'Adamo's work with blood type, but complicates things by introducing a slew of less scientific schemes besides blood type. The result is a confusing mix of what is beleivable and what is not. I found 'Eat Right 4 Your Type' not only more believable, but also better organized.
Book Review: Most Readable Book on Diet Out There Summary: 5 Stars
My sister gave this book to me as a birthday present and I plan to give it out to all my friends as a gift as well. It is astounding to me that nobody has ever put together all the pieces of diet before. The sections on metabolism were so right on. I loved this book. I hope Gittleman writes a sequel.
Book Review: You would starve Summary: 1 Stars
I was shocked to discover that according to Gittleman I am supposed to exist on 4 - 6 oz of protein a day! Is she kidding with this? If you actually adopted her eating guides you might survive, but you would wish you were dead. Save your money, this is an extremely restrictive diet! Very unrealistic!!
Book Review: Simply Outstanding - A+ Summary: 5 Stars
This book is by far the most interesting nutrition book I have ever read. Ann Louise Gittleman sure has a knack of making Boring information easy to comprehend and fun. I loved the case histories, especially and the menu plans (for a diet book) aren't bad either. I give this book an A+.
