Book Reviews of Your Inner Physician and You: Craniosacral Therapy and Somatoemotional Release

Book Review: very egocentric
Summary: 1 Stars

That book almost turned me off craniosacral therapy. I have experienced it and I know it does work, as many other forms of bodywork do. Unfortunately Upledger is so full of himself and so illogical in his explanations that his book looks like a joke written by a very egocentric man.
If people are interested in craniosacral therapy, I suggest they go back to the source and to William Garner Sutherland' work.

Book Review: Approachable introduction to Craniosacral therapy!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the book I hand to my clients who are looking to understand what Craniosacral therapy is and what it does. The writing style reads quickly and easily, the language is not too medical for the lay person, and Upledger uses case examples to illustrate his points. I love this book and I recommend it to anyone who practices or receives bodywork, as well as anyone interested in the mind-body connection.

Book Review: the beginnings
Summary: 3 Stars

It's the story of John Upledger discovering Cranio Sacral. Mostly stories of patients cured, of how he discovered that the dura mater was always moving, how he found all of his techniques. (explained in his other books)

so, yes, it's interesting, but not very practical. this book explains no techniques as in the other ones, and this disappointed me a little.

Book Review: Fantastic book
Summary: 5 Stars

Whether you are a professional or whether you are just interested in what cranio sacral therapy (CST) is - this is a fantastic book. Very easy to read and yet when you are finished you understand the concept of CST and the also have a good feel for where it can be applied.

Book Review: Sub-titled "How to Pull a Fast One"
Summary: 1 Stars

A useful " how to" guide for those interested in inventing their own bogus therapy. Not a single shred of evidence for efficacy, and denies basic anatomical facts that easily demonstrable to the average 3rd grader.
